FLOWERS
The flowers in the chancel today are given by Bill & Dorothy Ann Mayweather, to the glory of God and in honor of their 48th wedding anniversary.
FOOD PANTRY
During July, 152 families/ 441 individuals were served; and 4,248 pounds of food were distributed. Thank you to everyone who continues to support this vital community ministry.
CHURCH SCHOOL
It meets each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Please come and bring your children. There are classes for every age group!
We are seeking individuals to serve in the Superintendent and Pre-School Teacher positions. If you are interested, please contact Dorothy Hill or Akiba Harper.

HILLSIDE-TEMPLE SINAI BOOK CLUB
This group will meet at the home of Janice Hale NEXT Sunday, August 29 at
2:00 p.m. They will be discussing A Pigeon and A Boy by Meir Shalev. They will carpool to Janice’s home in Winder. See Joanne Nurss, Lelia Crawford, Ava Johnson, or Deloris Bryant-Booker if you are interested in joining them.

It is scheduled to air NEXT Sunday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m.
WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY COMING SOON!
This will be at 6:00 p.m. and begins Wednesday, September 1.
CHOIR REHEARSALS
They will resume Thursday, September 9 at 7:30 p.m., in the Choir Room.
WORSHIP LIFE WORKSHOP
The Worship Ministry invites all acolytes, ushers, communion servers, banner changers, floral arrangers, nursery workers—everyone involved in the ministry of Worship—to a workshop to be led by Dr. Melva Costen on Saturday, September 11, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Session Room and Sanctuary. WORSHIP MINISTRY
This Ministry will meet on Monday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Session Room. The meeting date has been modified due to the Labor Day holiday on September 6.
PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN
This group will have its first meeting for 2010-2011 on Saturday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m., due to a conflict with the Annual Retreat on September 24-26. The regular schedule will resume in October. They are looking forward to seeing all women of the church in attendance!
HILLSIDE’S ANNUAL RETREAT—SEPTEMBER 24-26, 2010!
It will be held at Calvin Center and will start Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., and end with a continental breakfast on Sunday, the 26th. We will return to Hillside for Service on Sunday. Please complete the reservation form insert in today’s bulletin and place it in the offering plate.

PARTNERSHIP “BOOK CLUB”
The Partnership Ministry, in conjunction with the FPC Christian Education Department, will sponsor a series of upcoming discussions in the Fall and Spring. The Autumn theme is “Immigration & Refugees in the West”. First up for discussion are: The House at Sugar Beach by Helene Cooper (Thursday, September 30) and Little Bee by Chris Cleave (Thursday, October 21).
ANNUAL HEALTH FAIR AT HILLSIDE
It is currently scheduled for Saturday, October 16. There will be more details in the weeks ahead.
APPLICANTS NEEDED FOR PARTNERSHIP STEERING CMTE.
New applicants are needed to serve on the Partnership Ministry Steering Committee, to help plan and implement the 2010-2011 year calendar. Requirements: A big smile, a can-do attitude and a willingness to “step outside the box”. The Steering Committee members call themselves “bridge builders”. HILLSIDE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Hillside has a scholarship/education fund which has helped some of our college students in the past. To access this fund, students will need to have at least a 2.3 (out of 4.0) grade point average, complete a scholarship/education fund application, provide proof of receiving a high school diploma, and proof of acceptance in a college or job training certification program. Please make donations in the envelopes found in the pews and indicate “Education Fund”.
FLOWER CHART
Simply write your name on the Flower Chart (on the wall in the Narthex/Long Hallway) on the date you would like to give flowers and the occasion you are celebrating, then put a check in the offering plate for $45 with “Flowers” in the memo field.
