Hillside is an exciting, unique church. Its rich history is indicative of a caring, energetic, creative congregation. Hillside offers a special place where God's people from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds may learn, have fun, take part in a loving community and become involved in life and faith enhancing activities. Diversity and commitment are always encouraged. Each member, old or young, has a unique niche and is constantly being encouraged to share and use their individual talents with the entire congregation.
Hillside possesses a history rich in tradition. Its conformance to the structure of Presbyterianism is reflected in Sunday worship, program materials, banners and adherence to Presbyterian polity. Many activities and celebrations that are held on an annual basis have been a tradition for many years. Most of the members do not have a Presbyterian background but come from Christian faiths of multiple origins. A unique feature in the--sanctuary is a pipe organ, built single-handedly by a member from scrap pieces in 1960, that still produces quality sounds.
Most importantly, the congregation of Hillside proclaims Jesus Christ as our only Lord and Savior and recognizes Him as the Head of the church. We are strongly committed to His life and teachings.
